Bank of Ireland, 32 South Mall, Cork
Bank of Ireland undertook a complete refurbishment and upgrade of its Area South Headquarters building at 32 South Mall, Cork.
Our role involved the provision of mechanical and electrical services installation design and specification as well as construction co-ordination and monitoring services for complete upgrade and refurbishment project. The refurbishment work was carried out on a phased basis in a ‘live’ 3300m² working office and bank branch premises with 300 staff on site. The entire electrical infrastructure throughout the premises was refurbished and upgraded. This included lighting, general services, data and telecommunications infrastructure, etc.
From a mechanical perspective, a complete upgrade/replacment of the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) installation was carried out, along with an upgrade of the domestic hot and cold water services. Natural ventilation was accommodated where possible with Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) introduced where appropriate.
The project also involved relocation and upgrade of the existing Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Room in the premises. This room serves the data and communications requirements of all branches in the south of the country.
